Long time no post...

I know it has been a while. I don't have anything to put up right now but I did update my portfolio and my demo reel will be on there soon. I have had a crazy summer so far that has had me out of town more than at my home. The exciting new now is that I am currently in LA getting ready to be a student volunteer at SIGGRAPH! A lot of great opportunities await me here including a  scheduled portfolio review. I will get the chance to meet some important people n the film industry and get to work with other students that will most likely be my coworkers someday. I'm really excited and anxious for this so  hope everything goes well and that I can break out of my shyness this week...

Well, for the sake of actually posting some recent work, here is a WIP digital panting of my husband :)
I'm fairly new at digital painting. This is my first real attempt at it. There is a lot of work to do still but  digital painting is no longer as intimidating as I thought it was.

figure :)

I had an awesome teacher for figure drawing this year :) She helped me learn a lot and my work has improved so much under her guidance. She will no longer be teaching a Ringling but she will be greatly missed!! I wish I could take her class again. Thank you Marianne Chapel! you are the best figure teacher ever  :)

SIT STAND!!!!

Its finally done!!!! we've have been working on this for a long time and i finally finished it :) There were a lot of bumps along the way and I thought it was going to be a disaster but it turned out a lot better than I expected. there are few little things I noticed after it was rendered but I'm still pretty happy with it. Here it is!

Also yesterday I went into the Selby Gallery at school to take a quick peek at some of the Best of Ringling pieces and to my surprise my name was in the program!! My traditional animation Lip sync made it into Best of Ringling! I didn't think it was that great but my teacher loved it from the start. I didn't see my animation playing because they have a lot of them playing continuously in the gallery but since my name was in the program I know its there. Hopefully I'll have some time this week to check it out and see my animation in the gallery! This is very exciting for me. I've had 1 piece in Best of Ringling 2 years in a row. Freshman year I got my Toy project in Best of Core :D. Maybe next year I can make some really awesome animations and get more than 1 piece in.

Sit Stand

So our next project in Computer Animation is the Sit Stand. A character has to sit down, have a change of emotion, and get up and leave. We've been working on the conceptual part of this throughout the semester but now we are actually starting to dive into it.

These are the character designs I started out with. I'm going with the Guy on the left. The story is this kid has been sent to the principal's office. he walks in angrily, and plops down in the waiting chair next to the office. He looks around and notices the fire alarm. he gets a mischievous idea and he pulls the fire alarm. He then walks away content because he just got out of going to the office.

Robie the robotic banker

our latest project in computer animation. we had to model this classic radio shack coin bank called Robie. This is similar to the penguin project(which i didn't post on here because its bad...) but instead of being polygon based its nurbs based. that's just different types of stuff to make things in. animatable stuff like characters would be modeled in polygons and sets and backgrounds would be modeled in nurbs. well, here it is :) i think it turned out pretty good considering the amount of time i actually spent on it.
