So...

Thesis has pretty much taken over my life. I'm always busy working on it. And over the Christmas break I was so burnt out I could barely get off the couch! That's why I've been somewhat absent on here :( I can't promise that I will be more active in the coming months because my film will be due soon and its recruiter season all at the same time. So if I disappear over the next couple months its ok, I'm alive :D just working my butt of. So until then, here are some doggy picture I made while waiting for test renders.

I have lots of thing I want to talk about on this blog! I never talked about CTN! which was amazing and I love every bit of it! An update on my life will come soon. Maybe I will work on that during my renders :p I just wanted to send a quick shout out to let you guys know that this blog is not dead. I will come back. Once I have work that isn't thesis related to show. Hope you guys out there are having fun doing whatever it is that you do! till next time...

Selah

Selah is my niece and I finally got to meet her this week! She's super cute and has super chunky legs. and whenever she looks at something interesting she opens her eyes REAAALLLY wide and makes this face.

Miss her already!!

I also went to CTN last weekend. Will give an update on that soon. Until then its work my butt off time till this semester is over. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!

dream

Had a dream that I was a dead spirit whose job it was to bear the burden of the living who had lost their dead. I was their sole connection to their loved ones.

and yesterday I had a dream about someone sneaking weed brownies onto a field trip. What are you doing brain? Just so you know, I do not partake in any weed activites. EVER. So I have no idea where that came from. I only know about weed brownies because of Transformers 2.

Veggies

So for my thesis I have Veggie Man whose costume is made up to look like various veggies. After my crit on Thursday I was told to go scan in vegetables and just slap them on my characters. So I scanned veggies and I thought I would share them in case anyone else out there ever need a carrot or brocoli texture flattened out. I'm also sharing theses becuase I think they are funny lol. they might not be the best scans but it is very hard to scan veggies. the broccoli I think was the hardest. Yay thesis!

First Day of school!

Went well :) I was all ready with my cupcake lunchbag! Im so pumped for this year. Yay Senior Year! Thesis!

I wanna try to keep up by dong a drawing or something everyday. This year doesn't call for much required drawing so I gotta keep it up on my own. So this is a little drawing to start off my daily drawings. I will most likely share them here and on my Tumblr. Gotta keep working  on my drawing skillz!!

So sometimes when I'm bored I make my husband draw squiggles and I make stuff out of them. Here are some that I have done on my iPad. There are more of these in my sketchbook that I may or may not upload later...

Business Cards!!

My business cards came in!! I decided to show them in a blog post because some explaining goes along with them. I want to get in to the story boarding field and I wanted a business card that would express that. I thought so much about it and had no idea what to do. So I went to http:us.moo.com to browse some designs and I came across one design that incorporated buzzwords. The purpose was to use the business cards to start a conversation about these buzzwords. So I used this concept and applied it to my stories, In my portfolio I have 2  stories that are my thesis ideas. They are called "Cupcake Ninja" and "Impromptu". So I used the names of my stories as buzzwords so that when i hand someone my business card they will ask about it. This will give me a chance to do a quick elevator pitch with my stories and if they are still interested I can bust out my flat portfolio or iPad and show them my boards and other things in my portfolio. I want my business cards to be a conversation starter and a direct connect to my portfolio so it will be easier to show it off. And hopefully when people take it home and look at it again they will see my buzzwords and remember me, my stories and my work. I'll be testing this out at SIGGRAPH next week!

Oh and my hand is covering the bottom of the cards so the cupcake one reads "Not a cupcake with ninja skills" and the Impromptu one says "Music and Love"
