More Work!

First an animatic I just finished. we had to have a character go from point A to point B/ Lets see if you can see where this guy is going :)

Second is animation I finished a little over a week ago. We were focusing on subtleties in people so we had to animate a character waiting for something. My guy is waiting for a text message. I did the animation but the model and rig was provided by for the school.

Soon I will post up my push/pull character when I finish her :)

Revised Design and Push Pull character

I had to revise some of my character designs from the Laboratory project so here are the new versions.

And... I made my Push Pull character! I really like her. She came from the little eskimo kid on the polar bear. Can't wait to start making and animating her!

Valet: process

Here is some process work for the valet story. This story has changed a lot since I first pitched it to the class.

It started off being about a guy who is late for his date and gets caught in a revovling door trying to pick up his inhaler that her dropped. It started off too complicated so I had to simplify it A LOT.

So I changed it to a door man who is really bored so he decides he wants to have fun with the door and play in it. Then a big guy comes and interrupts his fun. I had definitely simplified the story but there was one big issue that came up: why do you need a doorman for a revolving door. So I changed it to a Valet man.

We then went to the Florida Studio Theater and shot reference there and learned about acting in general.

So I grabbed these still from the reference. they are moments, actions and emotions I wanna use in my animatic.

So I drew out my iconic moments, the once I got that worked out I drew my boards. I did a first version of the animatic, (which I'll post on here soon...) and after the critique I came up with the version that is in the previous post :)

This was our first animatic for concept development this year. The basis was to have a character come up to a door, and something happens. So, this is my take on it. Enjoy :)

The Laboratory

This if from my new class Drawing For Animators. Its pretty much a visual development class. So far this class has been fun but I know the work load for it will pile up really soon. This project is called Laboratory. We used 3 different ways of making character designs. First we made random silhouettes, took pictures of textures and drew lots of scribbles. Then from all of these we found designs for new characters. Here is some of my process and my final character designs.

Part 2 of Animation Triathalon. We were given 3 emotions and we had to portray them using only Silhouette. My words are Nerdy, Shocked and Giddy.
