The first day of school always reminds me of Finding Nemo :) well, here is another animated reference... I'M READY I'M READY I'M READYYY!!!!! yes, spongebob. My life is run by animation... and I'm currently watching spongebob. Anyways... Tomorrow is the first day of school and I am pumped! There is so much I want to accomplish this year! I wanna improve every day and really work on my drawings for the short term goal of getting an internship next summer! I know I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength! I'm ready to face this year head on and ovecome any challenges it presents. This is what I am made to do. So lets GOOOO!!!!!
I was just looking at someone else's blog and they had a sereate blog for a daily drawing that they did. I'm thinking about incorporating the same thing into my blog. Maybe add a page that has a daily drawing/drawings on it. I need to draw more every day and I hnk this could be a good way to get myself started! plus i'll have whoever looks at this blog to keep me accountable. I already have a sketch I didn't today that I can put up. So if you see me slacking let me know. tell me to get back on my game! Be on the lookout, cuz here I come full force. I'm excited for this school year :)

church stuff
I did for our church service this past Sunday. The sermon was called "ihurt" and it was about dealing with heartache and using it as an opportunity to reach out to God and to help others who are going through similar situations. We thought it would be neat to have the congregation watch me as I did the digital painting so I recorded myself doing it then speed up to about 6min. the actual piece to about an hour to make. Oh and Seth, my awesome husband, played piano in the background to go with it :)
Here's the video that was played at church with some pre-recoorded music from Seth. Its 2 of his pieces called "Breaking the Surface" and "Beneath the Surface"

Summer stuff
I haven't been art deprived this summer. I have been doing some art :)
These are some sketches. I've been working on sketching more and I have seen improvement this summer. I'm still not sketching as much as I would like but I'm sure I will get better at it.
The next few are from Bobby Chui's Sketcholoic contests. They were done really quick but they were fun to do. Of course I didn't win anything but I enjoyed the chance to participate in the contests and watch the interviews. The first one is a Wall street Cyclops for an interview with Nate Wragg. The second is my favorite childhood anime for an interview with Dice Tsutsumi. I was a die hard pokeman fanactic.
I think thats it for now. I might have some other stuff, I just don't know where in my computer it is :P
SIGGRAPH was awesome. I'm so glad I was able to go. It was a great opportunity to make new friends. meet other students from all over the worl, and talk to some amazing people. I really hope I can volunteer again next year in Vancouver!!!
Also, school is right around the corner. This summer went by pretty fast, mainly because we did a lot of family visiting. Its been a crazy summer of dealing with traveling, finances, jobs, vacation and family but it was a good summer. I'm almost ready to get back into the school routine. I'm excited about my classes this semester but there are still a few things I would like to do before school starts.
